A new product has been introduced to the market designed to run main stage bingo games. This is called Bingo Express and was developed predominantly by Praesepe (traditionally an AGC operator) and a number of other operators who have over the past year converted a proportion of their AGC premises to bingo premises. Bingo Express allows these premises to offer linked games including National Cash.
Bingo Express was rolled out in April 2012 to a number of former AGC premises that now hold bingo premises licences. The initial pilot has grown with the product now being placed in various former AGCs and some more ‘traditional’ bingo clubs. Although some of the games seem to work differently to more traditional forms of bingo, they are operating under the bingo variant rules and are therefore compliant. These are rules that were agreed with the Bingo Assoc. following the introduction of the Act. Amongst other things, they mean that players are able to claim a game within a prescribed time period rather than having to do so as the game takes place. At present the system offers four different types of game, three operate under the variant rules, and the other (National Cash) requires players to participate in the manner that they would with typical main stage bingo.
